If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please always inform us before placing your order. Our kitchen handles multiple allergens and we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. In case of a severe allergy, please speak to a member of staff directly.
1. Our Commitment to Food Safety
At Piccollo, the safety of our customers is our top priority. We comply with the Food Information Regulations 2014 (FIR) and guidance from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) / Food Standards Scotland (FSS) regarding allergen information.
We are committed to providing accurate allergen data for all our dishes. If you have any questions or concerns about ingredients, please do not hesitate to ask before ordering.
2. The 14 Major Allergens
The following 14 allergens must be declared under UK food law. Our dishes may contain one or more of these:
Wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt, kamut
Prawns, crab, lobster, crayfish
Found in many sauces, pasta, cakes
Including fish sauce, some dressings
Including groundnuts, peanut oil
Soya, tofu, soy sauce
Including lactose, butter, cheese, cream
Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios, macadamia
Including celeriac, celery salt, celery seeds
Including mustard powder, seeds, leaves
Sesame seeds, sesame oil, tahini
Concentration above 10mg/kg or 10mg/litre
Lupin seeds, lupin flour
Mussels, oysters, squid, snails
3. How to Request Allergen Information
You can obtain allergen details for any menu item by:
- Calling us at +44 141 776 3232 before placing your order.
- Speaking to our staff when collecting your order in-store.
- Adding a note to your online order through the GloriaFood ordering system โ please clearly state your allergies.
4. Cross-Contamination
Our kitchen prepares a wide variety of dishes including pizzas, kebabs, curries and sides. While we take all reasonable measures to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any dish is 100% free from traces of allergens.
This is especially important for customers with severe allergies (e.g., anaphylaxis). If you have a severe allergy, please contact us directly so we can discuss your requirements.
5. Natasha's Law (Prepacked for Direct Sale โ PPDS)
Under Natasha's Law (effective from 1 October 2021), food that is prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) must carry a full ingredients list with the 14 allergens emphasised. If any of our items fall under PPDS, they will be labelled accordingly.
